A brutal attack outside of a South Dallas bar that was shown on FOX 4’s Trackdown has been linked to an arrest by Dallas police.
Keion Dawson, who is 28 years old, was caught on November 1 and charged with stealing from a person.
A warrant for his arrest says he was one of several people who beat up a woman outside of the Emerald City Bar and Grill on September 11.
The Dallas Police Department shared a video with a lot of cuts out that shows the victim arguing with several guys.
In the affidavit, it says that the fight started because the victim said that one of the guys wasn’t treating his girlfriend right.
Police said that the fight got so bad that several men and women punched and kicked the victim, even after she was on the ground.
In September, Dallas police officer Andrew Cyr told FOX 4’s Shaun Rabb, “They just start beating her up. The suspect in black kicks her at least seven times in the face and stomps on her head several times as well.”
Before rescuers arrived, the person was left on the ground for nine minutes. She was in the hospital for days because her face had several broken bones.
Based on the statement, Dawson was one of the people who hit the victim over the head with their shoe.
Two vape pens were taken from her bag while she was on the ground, too. The court document says that a video shared on social media helped police figure out who he was. He is being held in the Dallas County jail on a $150,000 bail.
A few other people who were involved in the attack are named in the affidavit, but it’s not yet clear if they’ve been caught.
