The Social Security Disability Insurance program provides benefits to American individuals and their families who are unable to work due to a disability. Those who filed, were approved, and remain eligible will receive their next monthly payment in December.
However, there are four distinct paydays, so if you don’t know when your next SSDI payment will arrive in your bank account, it’s time to figure it out so you can plan your monthly budget.
SSDI payment on December 3, after Cyber Monday
If you obtained Social Security Disability Insurance before May 1997, you will receive the December 3 payment. Don’t worry if you started collecting disability benefits later; there is another way to qualify for this monthly payment.
In fact, if you are a Social Security Disability Insurance beneficiary who also qualified for Supplemental Security Income, you will be eligible for SSDI on December 3, 2024.
Thus, SSI beneficiaries who receive SSDI at the same time will receive a Disability Insurance payment on December 3 and an SSDI check or direct deposit on December 31, 2024. This final SSI payment will be due January, but will be issued ahead of schedule, and it will include the 2025 COLA increase.
SSDI maximum amounts after Cyber Monday
If you have already ran out of money due to recent events such as Thanksgiving, Black Friday, or Cyber Monday, you could receive up to $3,822 if you qualify.
To receive this big Social Security Disability Insurance payment, you must have filed at the required age, earned the taxable limit for 35 years, and worked throughout those years. No doubt, you paid payroll taxes while working.
On December 3, 2024, SSDI recipients can expect to receive an average of $1,542. Other possible paydays if you received benefits after April 30, 1997, are:
- Disability Insurance benefits due on December 11: birthday from 1-10
- Disability Insurance benefits due on December 18: born from 11-20
- Disability Insurance benefits due on December 24: birth date from 21-31
